The Mental Health and Addictions program goals are:  For people in two age groups (15-64, and 65+ years old) who were hospitalized for a mental health or substance use disorder, increase the number of those people who receive  community and/or doctor follow-up within 30 days of discharge to 90%.  Services include: Intake Crisis response Short term counselling (individual, family and group) Longer term case management Provides lifeskills support for activities of daily living Medication management Psychoeducational groups Education Psychiatric consultation Youth addiction

Family Support, foster parents, child/youth relationships

Family Support - Smithers Community Services Association
Description: 
The main goal is to support parents, foster parents and other primary caregivers to address behavioural concerns in ways that preserve and enrich the caregiver-child/youth relationship. This is done through emotional support, as well as exploration, discussion and practice of developmentally supportive resources. The Family Support Program provides one-to-one and group support, and also works to link caregivers to other supportive services in the community. Referrals are made through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH).
